The Casaplatform exhibition project is inspired by the façades of the Procuratie, the three interconnected buildings that frame Piazza San Marco. It is designed to be installed inside the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice during the 17th Architecture Biennale.
The concept is based on two key elements: a modular metal framework and a system of white canvases onto which the 140 projects are printed. The design strategy centres on placing a light, ethereal structure within a historic building of strong architectural character.
The height of the installation aligns with the base of the existing columns, creating a visual dialogue between the solidity of the stone and the lightness of the structure. To maintain circulation within the building, the installation includes breaks at staircases and emergency exits, achieved through suspended sections that preserve the continuity of the design.
The core theme is seriality. The sheer number of projects is accentuated by the rhythmic repetition of structural elements, lending the installation an abstract quality. Positioned centrally within the two side aisles, the structure allows projects to be viewed from both sides, encouraging a fluid and dynamic visitor experience.
